Sections in this rhinoscopy and otoscopy report template

1. Nasal cavity
   • Normal: The nasal cavity is patent with healthy pink mucosa, a midline septum and normal turbinates.
   • Deviated septum: The nasal septum is deviated, causing narrowing of the nasal passage.
   • Sinusitis: Congested mucosa and purulent middle-meatal discharge are consistent with sinusitis.
2. External ear canal
   • Normal: The external auditory canal is clear, without erythema or swelling.
   • Impacted cerumen: The external auditory canal is obstructed by impacted cerumen.
   • Otitis externa: Canal erythema, oedema and discharge indicate otitis externa.
3. Tympanic membrane
   • Normal: The tympanic membrane is intact, pearly grey and has a normal light reflex.
   • Perforation: A small, dry central perforation is present in the pars tensa.
